Secured Service

SmartGlance servers are fully secured and use the world class security offered by Microsoft Data Center located in Chicago. The Servers and your data are protected by the best practices and state of the art technologies of the Microsoft data center.

To further tighten security, SmartGlance has embraced Windows Azure, a cloud service operating system that has an array of security measures implemented within the service. SmartGlance service is fully secured and embraces the three pillars of secure connectivity - authentication, authorization and encryption.


The three foundations of Secured Service:

Authentication : SmartGlance achieves authentication by always registering your mobile hardware with your login/password in the service. This process ensures that only an "Authenticated" user can access the SmartGlance service. Also, only the Authenticated and the Authorized users can send data to the SmartGlance service. So, the service is protected from all sides in terms of where data comes in and where data goes out. Each communication message has built-in authentication.

Authorization :
Mobile level authorization: In addition to hardware and device authentication mentioned above, SmartGlance ensures that the user is authorized to use the service. Unless a user has a password, he will not be allowed to use the service and access data. This level of authorization comes in handy if the user loses his phone hardware. Whoever finds user's phone will not be able to access SmartGlance service without user's own password.
Report level Authorization: When a company administrator sends the company's reports to SmartGlance service, he is required to enter email addresses of the authorized viewers. So, each report that comes to the SmartGlance system will have a list of emails addresses that are authorized to view that report. So, if a user is not authorized to view a particular report, his email address will not be in the report. This process provides an ultimate level of security.

Wipe Out: This feature is useful in several scenarios such as termination of an employee, employee changing to a new phone, employee misplacing his phone, employee loosing/finding his phone and employee using another phone in emergency. SmartGlance allows the admin to remove an employee using the "Administrative Controls Page" and wipe out their data. In case of "Wipe Out", all the reports sent to that user will be WIPED OUT on the first login or the first refresh by that user. This feature also wipes out data that is already downloaded in the phone when the user was still "Active". Employees can also call the admin to reset their password in case of a loss/misplace or use of other phone. Overall, SmartGlance provide fully secured procedures to ensure data security.

Encryption : All data communication from your company's database to the SmartGlance server and from the SmartGlance server to your mobile device is controlled under full encryption (HTTPS) secured site verified by a third party Verisign Thawte security certificate. All data is encrypted prior to transmission to ensure security from any internet programs.
